confederation of European industries BusinessEurope organised a major

conference to discuss how to reconcile climate protection and economic

growth. But the event, which attracted 450 participants, did not turn

stakeholders (industry, Commission, civil society...) and their past and

current lobbying efforts ahead of the Copenhagen conference.

Featuring Philippe de Buck van Overstraeten (Director General,

BusinessEurope), José Manuel Barroso (President of the EU Commission),

Stavros Dimas (EU Commissioner for Environment), Karl Falkenberg

(Director General, DG Environment), Claude Turmes (MEP, Greens/EFA),

Graeme Sweeney (Shell), Dominique Mockly (Areva), Jason Anderson (WWF),

Roland Verstappen (ArcelorMittal), Philippe de Casabianca (CEFIC),

Wolfgang Weber (BASF), Eric De Ruest (Climate Alarm!)...
